Iwi decision register

The Iwi Decision Register provides a record of the recognition of Mandated Iwi Organisations, approval and changes of their constitutional documents and of their Asset Holding Companies and any subsidiaries, determinations on coastline entitlements or interim coastline entitlements, the allocation of settlement assets to each iwi, the transfer of those settlement assets to Mandated Iwi Organisations or asset-holding companies, and any transfer of settlement quota.

About the register

The Iwi Decision Register is directed by the Māori Fisheries Act 2004 to define which iwi fall under each Māori electorate.

The purpose of the Iwi Decision Register is to provide a record of the recognition of Mandated Iwi Organisations, approval and changes of their constitutional documents and of their Asset Holding Companies and any subsidiaries, determinations on coastline entitlements or interim coastline entitlements, the allocation of settlement assets to each iwi, the transfer of those settlement assets to Mandated Iwi Organisations or asset-holding companies, and any transfer of settlement quota.
